Calixta was wrong in the situation. It could have been avoided. Calixta was trying to be nice. She ended up being too nice to Alcee. They had a past history which means that old feelings could have been there. Alcee should not have been trying to push up on her, but she should have strength. Calixta should have honored the marriage. The only good thing was that no one found out and they never did it again. At first, it felt for her. She was honoring her marriage and family. She was nervous around Alcee. Then she changed and started being her passionate self. Alcee is manipulative and entitled. He was not supposed to enter Calixta’s home. She told him to stay on the porch. He just walked in. Alcee did a lot that he should not have done. I say this because he was married too. They both were wrong. They were really wrong. I feel bad for their spouses. The story does not judge either of them. It just tells what happened between them.
