My favorite reading this year was “The Gilded Six Bits”. Let me start off by saying that Zora Neale Hurston is a genius. The story had a great storyline. There are so many things that you can think about within this story. You could have look for many literary elements. You could have looked at the theme, symbolism, conflict, and any other element. It still would have been an amazing paper to complete and think about. I loved how real this story was and I liked about you could get a glimpse of the African American culture from this story. The dialect made it real especially since I am southern. It is like I was talking to one of my family members. It was also amazing because of how she wrote the characters. In the story of Adam and Eve, most people blame Eve. Although, this story focused on how Adam was wrong as well as Eve. It also shows how as African Americans we tend to be materialistic. I could talk about this story for a long time.
